Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four major tournaments this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her final two events of the year due to a medical condition she has been fighting in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to recover prior to beginning next year's training.

Those preparations will include her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating for the upcoming season.

She required blood pressure checks in her opening round against Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the deciding set in the match with Zhu because of a lower back issue that has troubled her at times this year.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after a long gap since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

The player achieved 28 matches this year and advanced to the semis in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
