Canada's Blue Jays Earn World Series Showdown Versus the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

George Springer previously helped the Houston Astros claiming the championship in 2017.

Canada's MLB team earned a spot in their first Fall Classic following the 1993 season by beating the Mariners in the seventh game seven of the ALCS.

Behind three runs to one, Springer delivered a three-run blast in the seventh frame, guiding the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 series win in the series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, who are the current crown, in the anticipated Fall Classic.

"It's incredible for our team, the city, Canada," Springer stated, a key player of the Houston Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "It's truly an amazing experience."

Springer has now slugged 23 post-season home runs, placing him third all-time trailing only Manny Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"It's hard to imagine another person in the world that I want up in that situation except for George Springer with his October magic," remarked Blue Jays manager John Schneider.

Seattle, despite leading the series two games to none and three games to two, remain the sole team that has never reached in a Fall Classic.

Wilson said "there's no question that it's going to sting" following his team's loss at their home ballpark, but applauded their work this season.

"This is a unique group. Unfortunately that we finished on the losing end of this game," he added.

Toronto's team secured the World Series on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and will host the Dodgers in the first game on Friday.
