England's Coach Tim Southee Unsure on The Ashes Availability
Tim Southee's last Test match for New Zealand was versus England in December 2024.
England fast-bowling advisor Southee is currently evaluating what his involvement will be during the upcoming Ashes series in the host nation.
The ex- Kiwi pace bowler is expected to be present for the first Test due to his involvement in the ILT20 competition, which begins on 2 December in the UAE.
The 36-year-old, aged 36, assumed a position as the English team's pace bowling advisor in the summer after taking 391 scalps in 107 Test matches for New Zealand.
Commenting as England's team for the opening of three Twenty20 games against the Kiwis was announced, Southee said of his availability: "We are still evaluating that at the present time.
"We will determine the outcome over the next little while."
England pace icon Broad had declared the Australia side as their "worst team since 2010", but the consultant was in no uncertainty over the anticipated challenge during the contest, which begins on November 21.
"In my view there's ever a poor Aussie side," he remarked.
"Our focus is squarely on our own objectives. In my opinion the caliber of [the English] team that's going out to the host country is brilliant.
"It should be an thrilling encounter, the Ashes. Not only [are|do] English and Australian people eagerly anticipate it, I think the whole cricket world is."
However, before England travel to the city of Perth for the opening Ashes Test, they take on New Zealand in Christchurch on Saturday.
