NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features live text of Sunday's games via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available on select stations covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the NFL season and after recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests were the number of infractions each committed. The Eagles committed them at crucial times so they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

But it proved positive to see how Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to have the shortfall before lead three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, to win the game by four points.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with CB their star corner. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers but they might plug two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

At the start of the season, it was noted on a program that the Broncos could be the current year's dark horses. They ended the previous year well then did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's underdog story?

New TE their tight end has stepped up big and recent RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable situations.

This has benefited QB Bo Nix, who entered into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to throw all over, however they don't move the mobility as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, plus he is so athletic.

His assets are his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as using varied release points to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of composure in the pocket and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

If you constantly rush it consumes time and forces the defence to stay on the field extended periods, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the field downfield side to side. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and it seems Payton likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to have a rookie QB who's similar to moldable clay. He can truly build something up the way he wants to build it. I think it's a special experience for him.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with Nix helps shape him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they good enough to face an elite team at its best? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working better than most, which is a solid position to hold their division. The key to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.

Since the NFL began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.

It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they meet since Denver {beat|def
