Netflix Selects Perfect Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3
The Secret Organization is poised to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a cherished, popular member has just been cast.
Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Bon Clay. This character possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a interpretation of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action series, unlike the original manga and animated series.
The new cast member joins a number of fresh additions set to bring the group to the screen, including leader the main antagonist, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as another operative, and a familiar face, who is also part of the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Although Bon Clay is a important part of Baroque Works, the character won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this marks a significant shift in the timing of their first appearance, one that could indicate more adjustments to the plot development.
Their mix of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the role. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is due to premiere for its next installment on March 10, 2026.
