'Our Mission Involves Only Killing' - How Sudan's Ruthless Militia Conducted a Massacre

Combatants laugh as they travel on the back of a transport truck, racing past a line of multiple dead bodies and driving in the direction of the setting Sudanese sun.
"See this extensive accomplishment. Observe this act of mass destruction," one cheers.
The individual beams as he directs the recording device on his person and his companion combatants, their paramilitary insignia on display: "They will all be killed this way."
The men are exulting in a mass killing that humanitarian officials suspect resulted in the deaths of over two thousand civilians in the Sudan's urban center of al-Fashir during October.
An Urban Center Isolated from the World
Having held the city under siege for almost two years, from August the paramilitary force proceeded to reinforce its position and prevent access for the leftover civilian population.
Orbital photography demonstrate that forces commenced to construct a massive berm - a elevated earthen wall - surrounding the edges of the city, sealing off entry points and preventing aid.
As the siege intensified, seventy-eight civilians were slain in an RSF assault on a mosque on mid-September, while the United Nations said fifty-three more were slain in drone and heavy weapon attacks on a displacement camp in October.
Graphic Footage Depicts Weaponless People Shot
In the early morning on October 26th the RSF overwhelmed the last army defenses and captured the central headquarters in the community, the main facility of the Army Division, as the military pulled back.
Among the most graphic recordings to surface and analysed showed the consequences of a mass killing at a university building on the western side of the urban area, where dozens dead bodies were visible scattered throughout the ground.
An older man wearing a robe remained alone amid the corpses. The man turned to gaze as a fighter armed with a rifle moved descending the steps in the direction of the individual. lifting his firearm, the gunman released a solitary shot at the victim, who dropped to the surface still.
"Why is this individual yet breathing," one militiaman exclaimed. "Execute this one."
Space-based imagery taken on 26 October appeared to verify that shootings were additionally performed on the roads of al-Fashir, based on a report issued by the university analysis team.
A key observer who provided testimony said they had seen "numerous of our kin being massacred - these individuals were gathered in one place and everyone killed."
RSF Officers Try to Implement Reputation Management
Following the events that came after the killings, paramilitary commander conceded that his forces had committed "wrongdoings" and said the events would be investigated.
Among those detained was following a report recording his killings. Carefully staged and modified video published on the RSF's authorized Telegram channel reveal him being taken into a prison room at a detention facility on the outskirts of the city.
Simultaneously, the RSF and affiliated digital profiles started seeking to alter the story.
Posts depicting its militiamen distributing aid to civilians were circulated by various accounts, while the force's communications team shared multiple clips allegedly to demonstrate the compassionate treatment of army captives.
Despite the online campaign being deployed by the paramilitary, their conduct in al-Fashir have provoked international anger.
